I am excited to announce that we will be doing the Truth About Sex Study. We will dive in to the truth about sex that we can find in Gods Word and at the same time we will expose the lies that you are being told. One thing that I can promise…. You will be challenged. I m so excited!! I am going to be in town this week and I will be with you Wednesday Night. I am looking forward to spending time with you. I encourage you to be a bringer!!!!

I want to encourage you today! I mean really encourage…. I know that you are about to go back to school. If you intend on making a stand for Christ it is going to be tough. Now, you are probably saying to yourself, I thought he was going to be encouraging. Well I think the best encouragement you can only find in His Word…

Joshua 1

^1-9 After the death of Moses the servant of God, God spoke to Joshua, Moses’ assistant:

“Moses my servant is dead. Get going. Cross this Jordan River, you and all the people. Cross to the country I’m giving to the People of Israel. I’m giving you every square inch of the land you set your foot on—just as I promised Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon east to the Great River, the Euphrates River—all the Hittite country—and then west to the Great Sea. It’s all yours. All your life, no one will be able to hold out against you. In the same way I was with Moses, I’ll be with you. I won’t give up on you; I won’t leave you. Strength! Courage! You are going to lead this people to inherit the land that I promised to give their ancestors. Give it everything you have, heart and soul. Make sure you carry out The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don’t get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you’re going. And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.”

Wow! How can you not be encouraged! Joshua was called to a huge task and so are you!

Is it me or has summer break just flown by. It does seem like we just got back from BigStuf! Oh well, summer is not over yet. Two things to keep in mind! We are hiking Fiery Gizzard and doing a video scavenger hunt. I will fill you in with the details Wednesday Night. See you there!

In my devotion time a question came up over and over again. It was one of those questions that you just can not escape. It is also a hard one to answer because of a couple of things.

1) this is a close ended question not an opened ended question… All that means is that it simply requires a yes or no answer. this would not be one of our normal excuse filled, when this or that happens or if I had or all those sort of things. I had a friend tell me that you might as well say you are busy washing your hair even though you are bald because one excuse is good as another.

2) The easy answer (yes)… So many times it is so easy just to say yes… Even though we have a million reasons and doubts of why we can not change.

Sometimes when we think about change we automatically think about our circumstances. (thats where the excuses come in).. I want to encourage you as I have been encourages this morning! Yes, I can change because I have been changed but if I am honest it is so hard.. Hard to be shaped and molded. Hard to be conformed to the image of Christ. Dont focus on your circumstances today but yet think about the Creator of all!

Dependence brings about Independence when we trust in Him….. Happy 4th!

Are you there? Are you connected? I hope you are! There is alot of excitement right now in MERGE. We are renovating the upstairs and I am glad to say that the first stage of the renovation is done. It is clean and ready to be put together! We have put together the plans and we hope to get started putting it all back together! I think you are going to be blown away…. I want to encourage you to get connected with our student small groups on Sunday Mornings. Remember be there Wednesday nights as well. You don’t want to miss one of the most awesome youth workers, Robert Tubb, as he leads the discussion…

I am so excited about the progress that is being made in the youth area @ WFBC! We have it tore down to the bare walls…. How exciting is it to have a blank slate to work with. During the de construction it has really made be think about my own spiritual life. The fact is that I pray that I am in a current state on construction… that God would continue to rip down my walls to expose the things that does not please HIM and after He has a blank slate to build in me what HE envisioned and planned for me before I was ever born. I will post some video and pics soon of the you area. Jeremiah 29:11

I am really excited that I will be sharing the Word tomorrow in the AM service. We will be talking about connections…. Four Ways to Connect! Inspired by BigStuf Camps. I hope to see you there! Oh yeah…. tomorrow night we will be showing both the WFBC Bigstuf video and the full length Bigstuf video that no one has seen yet…. Be in the youth room @ 6pm tomorrow night. Also I have some BIG BIG news tomorrow night. You don’t want to miss it!!!!1

We had an amazing time at BigStuf in Panama City Beach, FL. We arrived on a Monday evening and we blinked and were  on the vans back to TN. What did you think about BigStuf? Comment

I have redone the website yet again. I did this to have a simple place to come for information about what is going on in the youth group (otherwise known as MERGE) So check back often…. I will also be linking through facebook and twitter.
